Success takes moxie, a willingness to take risks and pursue your dreams. The Keds Brave Life Project will provide girls, like you, with opportunities to take these positive risks, develop the confidence to be true to themselves, and build supportive networks. Throughout 2015, the Keds Brave Life Project will provide girls with tools, resources and $50,000 in grants to support their career goals.
Who can apply for this grant?
Young women who are legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec), and between the ages of 13 through 24 years of age as of March 3rd, 2015.
How many Keds Career Grants will be awarded?
Up to a maximum of one hundred grant recipients will be selected from all eligible applications received during the Application Period. Fewer may be awarded if an insufficient number of high-quality applications are received.
How much is each grant?
Each grant provides up to $500 to help support the costs necessary for each grantee’s brave goal for how they want to advance their career ambitions.
What is the judging criteria?
Recipient(s) will be selected by TMI, based on the following judging criteria:
- BRAVE GOALS: We want to know your vision for your career. Demonstrate in your application how receiving the Keds Career Grant will help you accomplish your brave goal.
- CREATIVITY: Think big! We want to see your creativity shine in your essay.
- INDIVIDUALITY: We believe in you, and your big dreams. Embrace who you are and be true to yourself in your answers.
- PERSONAL IMPACT: Help us understand how this Grant could impact your life – what it would mean if you won and how it might allow you to advance your career goals.
Who is TMI?
TMI is a subsidiary agency of DoSomething.org, the largest organization in the U.S. for young people and social change.
Can I give or share the grant with other people if I win a grant?
No, each grant is intended to be used exclusively by the winner. No grant or any portion thereof is transferable, UNLESS the grantee would like to use the grant money for a NGO (non-governmental organization) that they are a founder of.
Can I use the funding from this grant for other purposes outside of my career goal?
No, all funding associated with this grant must be used as proposed in the application.
